Introduction

Cooling Tower Water Treatment Test Kit AR – TB.09 is for Hardness, Alkalinity, Chloride and Iron testing.

Function

Hardness Test Kirt

To determine the Hardness level using Cooling Tower Water Treatment Test Kit :

• Take sample water about 5 ml, put in plastic tube.

• Put in 5 (one) drops of "Hardness Buffer", then slowly stir.

• Put in 1 (one) drop of "Calmagite Indicator", then stir evenly The solution color will be red violet.

• Prepare titration syringe, fill with HI 3812-0 solution (EDTA Solution) until the syringe's scale limit = 0.

• Put in solution from the syringe into the plastic tube slowly while stirring. Continue titration until the solution color is purple, then mix for 15 seconds. Solution color will change to blue

• Read the amount of solution on the titration syringe, readings from the syringe multiplied by a factor of 300, result is in units of mg/l (ppm)

Alkalinity Test Kirt

To determine the Alkalinity level using Cooling Tower Water Treatment Test Kit :

• Take cooling process water about 5 ml, put in plastic tube.

• Put in 1 (one) drop of Bromophenol Indicator, then stir it. If the solution color is yellow then Alkalinity = 0.

• If the solution color is purple, continue with titration using HI 3811-0 (Reagent : acid solution)

• Take (HI 3811-0) reagent using a syringe, until the syringe's scale limit = 0.

• Put in the solution until titration solution turns clear.

• Alkalinity result can be viewed from reagent use inside the syringe, then the total use multiplied by a factor of 300, result is in units of mg/l (ppm)

Chloride Test Kit

To determine the Chloride level using Cooling Tower Water Treatment Test Kit :

• Take cooling process water about 5 ml, put in plastic tube.

• Put in 2 (two) drops of Diphenylcarbozone Indicator, then stir it. The solution color will be red violet.

• While still stirring inside the plastic tube, put in Nitric Acid solution until the color of the solution is yelllow.

• Take HI 3815-0 (Mercuric Nitrate Solution) using a syringe, until the syringe's scale limit = 0.

• Put in the solution until titration solution turns yellow.

• Put in the solution until titration solution turns violet.

• Chloride result can be viewed from regent use inside the syringe, then the total use multiplied by a factor of 1000, result is in units of mg/l (ppm)

Iron Test Kirt

To determine the Iron level using Cooling Tower Water Treatment Test Kit :

• Take 10 ml sample water, put in plastic tube.

• Put in 1 sachet reagent Iron, then stir.

• Wait for about 6 minutes, put color comparator into the solution inside the tube.

• Compare sample solution with color comparator.

• Iron result can be read from color comparator, result is in units of mg/l (ppm)

Standard for Cooling Water Process

• PH              :   11

• Hardness    :   < 5 ppm

• Chloride        :   170 ppm

• Alkalinity       :   225 - 300 ppm

• Iron           :   1 ppm
